Join us for a three-week Beginner Sewing Series at The Makery, designed for those who want to learn the basics in a relaxed, supportive setting. Over the course of three sessions (April 9, 16, and 23), you’ll build confidence using a sewing machine while creating three practical, take-home projects: a tote bag, a zipper pouch, and an apron. (material list below)
Each week, we’ll focus on a new project while introducing essential skills like cutting fabric, sewing straight seams, and working with a zipper. This series is perfect for true beginners or anyone looking to refresh their skills while enjoying a creative, social environment.
No experience is needed—just come ready to learn, create, and have fun!
April 9th: Tote Bag-2 pieces of ½ yard fabric-coordinating prints and 1 ½ yards of coordinating belting
April 16: Zipper Pouch-2 pieces of ½ yard fabric-coordinating prints or 2 fat quarters, 9 inch zipper to coordinate with the fabric
April 23: Apron-1 ¼ yard of cotton or linen/cotton blend
