Our Beginner Quilting Series is a welcoming, hands-on introduction to the art of quilting. This multi-session class is designed for those who are new to quilting or want to build confidence with the fundamentals in a supportive, small-group setting.
Participants will learn essential skills including fabric selection, cutting and piecing, accurate seam allowances, and basic quilt construction. Throughout the series, students will work step-by-step toward completing a small quilt project while learning techniques they can use in future quilting projects.
This class is taught by local sewing and quilting expert Carol Stair, who brings years of experience and a patient, encouraging teaching style. When The Makery was created, our goal was to provide a space where local makers could share their talents—and this series reflects that mission.
All instruction is beginner-friendly. Basic sewing machine knowledge is helpful, but prior quilting experience is not required.
